Bill’s Barking Lot
Bill Walsh Sr. was an avid dog lover and a huge supporter of anything that had to do with man’s best friend. Join us as we honor his legacy to the community of Ottawa with the second annual Barktoberfest!
All proceeds will be donated to Bill’s Barking Lot, the new city dog park in downtown Ottawa. The park is located at 401 E Lafayette St.
Events and Activities
Fido Fair- 11 am-3 pm
Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at the Fido Fair, where you and your four- legged friend can explore a paw-some array of dog-related products. From gourmet treats to stylish accessories, it’s a canine paradise you won’t want to miss!
Pack Walk- Check in starts at 10:45, Walk at 11 am
Walk with the experts! This structured walk on the streets of downtown Ottawa will show you how to properly communicate with your dog in a way that he/she understands using various tools, your energy, and body language.
Costume Contest- Noon
There’s only one thing cuter than pooches on parade, and that’s costumed pooches on parade! If you’re not a fan of the scary and spooky, rest assured that adorableness also wins prizes. Whether Fido’s ensemble is cute, comical, clever, or creepy, give them the chance to show it off at Bill’s Barktoberfest.
Ottawa’s Top Dogs- 1 pm
Does your furry friend have what it takes to be one of Ottawa’s Top Dogs? It is all about hard work, prizes, fun, and of course bragging rights with the sought-after title. This will be an online video competition with finalists invited to join us to be crowned one of Ottawa’s Top Dogs!
Canine Showcase- 1:30 pm
Showcasing the bond between humans and their canine companions while they share the incredible talents and skills their dogs possess. Featuring: OPD Dogs & Handlers Demo, K9 Attack Demo, Agility Demo, 2023 Puppy Champion, Retriever Demo, and Therapy Dogs!
BWaggers Canine Carnival Games- 11 am-3 pm
Join us for some B-WAGging Fun that aims to make tails wag and bring smiles to both two-legged and four-legged friends with bobbing for apples, Hula Hoop, and tic-tac-toe challenges. Capture the magic with adorable photo ops and Show Some Love to Pet Project, Inc.
